Brothers-in-law Piero and Roberto manage this comfortable hotel in a converted convent near the Rialto market. You’ll have to climb to the second floor to reach the hotel’s reception, where you’ll find yourself in a richly decorated hall with antique furniture. Some of the rooms’ nicer features are hand-painted headboards and modern bathrooms.
Rooms #3, #5 and #7 have views of the mercato. The newer rooms on the top floor have high-beamed ceilings and look out onto Venice’s rooftops. At publication time, they had plans to install double-paned glass in all of the rooms, which should make sleeping during the morning market a bit easier. If you prefer more privacy, the hoteliers also rent three apartments, one here and two near San Marco.
